Galveston Family Wins $50,000 Home Makeover From Directbuy

When George and Delores, members of DirectBuy of Houston East, told their family that they won $50,000, five-year-old granddaughter Lauren said, âYaya (Greek for âgrandmotherâ), Iâve never known anybody to win $50,000.â
Well luckily she does now, as her grandparents are planning a vacation for their entire family to enjoy. The Letsos family also plans on paying off Deloresâ medical bills from last summerâs chemotherapy treatments. âWe couldnât thank DirectBuy enough for their Home Makeover program and giving us this incredible opportunity,â said George Letsos.
âSince joining DirectBuy, we have remodeled our kitchen with all new appliances and have also remodeled our master bathroom,â said Delores. âWe were going to stop there, but since winning the Home Makeover Contest, we can re-furnish our master bedroom as well.â

Wichita Family Wins $50,000 Home Makeover From Directbuy

âWhen we received our open house invitation in the mail with a chance to win $50,000, we thought, âwhy not try,ââ said Linda Demar. âBut never did we think we were actually going to win! In fact, the certified mail announcing our winning sat on the kitchen counter for two days before we let ourselves think it might be true.â
It wasnât until DirectBuy of Wichita Marketing Associate Michael Lee personally handed over the check that the Demar family finally realized that they indeed were the winners of $50,000. Lee is the marketing associate who sent Linda and Kim Demar their key and booked their appointment.
Franchise Owners Warren Schaal and Kevin Ferrante invited the entire marketing staff and surprised Lee by handing him the check in front of everyone and asking him to present it to Linda Demar. âIt was the neatest thing that I have ever done in my life,â said Michael Lee.
âWe’ve always said that the Home Makeover Contest is a great program,â said co-owner Warren Schaal. âEveryone imagines how awesome it would be to have someone win from your showroom, but for it to actually happen in our center is incredible. Being part of DirectBuy is a life-changing event, but this is unbelievable.â
